Clinical Lead · Registered Nurse, CQC & Ofsted-Regulated Services
A registered nurse and CQC Registered Manager who has also set up and run children’s homes. Genevieve brings the clinical side of compliance to adult services, and hands-on registration and start-up experience to children’s residential care.
Genevieve is a registered nurse and a CQC Registered Manager, and has worked across both adult social care and children’s residential care — which is a rarer combination than it sounds, and a useful one when a provider is operating in both.
She has set up and run children’s homes from the ground up: registration, recruitment, policies and procedures, and the work of turning a compliant building into a home that children actually settle in. That start-up experience is hard to buy in, because most people who have done it are still doing it.
Alongside that she has managed a CQC-regulated adult service since 2014, achieving Good ratings from CQC and consistently high satisfaction from the people using the service. Day to day that has meant everything a Registered Manager carries — safeguarding, health and safety, monthly internal and local authority audits, and advocating for people who have nobody else to speak for them.
She also practises as a registered nurse on an endocrinology ward at Frimley Park Hospital, caring for people with diabetes, thyroid and adrenal conditions. That keeps her clinical practice current, and it is what she brings to providers whose inspection concerns are about the care itself rather than the paperwork.
Genevieve holds a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing from Buckinghamshire New University and a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
She is the person to bring in when clinical practice needs strengthening, or when a new children’s home needs taking from an idea to a registered, operating service.
